• This paper is another example of successful international collaboration between Newcastle University and the University of Amsterdam. It explores the effects of intra-industry knowledge spillovers on firms’ innovation activity and welfare by deriving a new theoretical framework for analysing R&D competition in the today world where the pace of imitation seems ever growing.
