The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action; and contributes to the objectives and targets of the flagship European Green Deal. The 2021-2027 programme has a budget of €5.4 billion, a 60% increase over the previous funding period.

A total of €598 million is available for nature conservation, environmental protection, climate action, and clean energy transition projects under LIFE’s four sub-programmes:

  • Nature and Biodiversity – €242 million
  • Circular Economy and Quality of Life – €158 million
  • Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation – €99 million
  • Clean Energy Transition – €98 million

On 18-20 May 2022, CINEA will hold virtual information sessions on the LIFE 2022 Calls for Proposals for potential applicants. Recordings will subsequently be available for interested parties on the CINEA website.
