Congratulations to Professor Stuart Barnes, who has once again been included in Stanford University’s top 2% of all scientists, across all subjects, in the world (top 0.27% for his career and top 0.06% for 2023). “My rankings increased from #31533 to #27717 of all scientists for my career and #8658 to #6334 for publications in the 2023 list from 2022. Of course I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to my co-authors, reviewers, editors, readers of my work, colleagues, friends, and family, for their support. Interestingly, Stanford uses c-scores to weight according to order of authorship (e.g., single-authored papers are weighted more) to better capture the level of contribution, based on a rigorously researched method, and excludes self-citations”
