The ESRC IAA is currently accepting funding applications for projects intended to maximise the social and economic impact of social science research. Funding is available across four schemes:
Strategic Fund (£10-15k):
Large impact projects that focus on at least one of our Strategic Priorities, developing programmes of work that have the potential to steer the longer-term development of interdisciplinary research.
Futures Fund (£10-15k):
Innovative impact projects that take a ‘first-step’ towards a bold solution to a societal and/or economic challenge.
Strategic Partnerships Fund (£10-15k):
Large impact projects designed to strengthen strategic partnerships between NU and external partners in VCSE, industry, policy, and technology.
Ideas to Impact Fund (£2.5k):
Small grants to pilot a new concept, with a view to strengthening a future or revised application to the above funds.
Applications are invited from any academic member of staff active in the social sciences (whether or not they are ESRC grant holders) who, at the point of application, hold a current contract of employment with Newcastle University. Applications are welcomed from staff across all three Faculties. Applications involving interdisciplinary teams are encouraged, where the underpinning research overall is at least 50% social science.
Applications are open on a rolling basis, but as we are only able to support a limited number of projects each year we encourage potential applicants to submit EoIs promptly.
Please submit EoIs here, or email esrciaa@newcastle.ac.uk for further information.
