Narrative CV Training

The Research Funding Development Team are running a workshop to help you understand the narrative CV format and prepare for writing a Narrative CV as part of your application. We will do exercises to look at your own CV to see how to reformat it into a narrative CV.

This workshop is open to all career stages.

The next course will take place on 17th September 2024, 10:00 – 12:00, in person.

UKRI Cross Research Council Responsive Mode Information Session

 In preparation for the next round of the UKRI cross research council responsive mode pilot scheme, we are holding an information event for potential applicants to aid in the development of their expression of interest to the Newcastle University selection process (Newcastle are limited to 12 applications in Round 2).

The event will be held on Thursday 12 September, 2 – 4pm (venue to be confirmed) and will consist of an overview of the scheme, presentations from successful applicants from the outline stage, and a questions and answers session with individuals who are panel members for this call.

Early Career Research Fellowships: The Foundations

Are you an early career researcher (ECR) who is working towards submitting an external fellowship application?

The Research Funding Development team has launched a new training course to help you prepare.

This will help ECRs:

  • Decide if a fellowship is right for them
  • Search for fellowship opportunities
  • Understand how to be competitive as an applicant
  • Understand the components of a high-quality fellowship application.

The course is a whole day, 09:30 – 15:30 (lunch provided), with a variety of presentations, interactive tasks, and opportunities to hear from fellowship awardees.

The workshop programme is as follows:

  • What are early career fellowships and how to find them
  • How to prepare for fellowship success
  • Fellowship Assessment, Person, Project, Place
  • Insight from successful early-career fellows
  • Learning from example
