Research Impact Retreats
HaSS Research Impact Retreats 25-26
Angie Scott is running some half-day Research Impact Retreats for academic, researcher and PS staff in HaSS who may like some quiet, dedicated time to focus on impact-related activities in 2025-2026. The in-person retreats will be held on campus, though I may consider running additional online retreats if there is sufficient demand.
These retreats are suitable for colleagues who are aiming to maximise the impact of their research, but also for colleagues whose role involves coordinating or supporting impact (e.g. PS colleagues working in research, Directors of Impact, and Impact Coordinators).
More information is outlined in the attached poster and below.
The Research Impact Retreats are not just for writing, and colleagues can focus on a range of impact-related activities, including but not limited to:

Research impact plans, e.g. developing a new, or reviewing an existing plan.

Internal impact funding applications, e.g. drafting, reviewing, giving feedback.

Impact-generating activities, e.g. planning, follow-up and evaluation.

Impact element of external funding bids, e.g. planning, writing, reviewing.

Potential REF 2029 Impact Case Studies, i.e. planning, writing up notes, drafting a narrative, evidence gathering, reviewing.
