Celebrating Success – Dr Jose Liu
Congratulations to Dr Jose Liu who has been coordinating our participation in this year’s Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge and highlights the scale of the activity he has been leading. The Challenge each year is to utilize our digital resource (Bloomberg terminals) and to enrich students’ practical learning experience. In 2025, we had 23 teams with 87 student participants from across different schools and disciplines at our university, which required substantial organisation and continuous guidance.
This year’s results maintain at a strong position. Our best team, “MAR”, was ranked 18th on the Global Leaderboard, 3rd on the Europe Leaderboard, and 3rd on the UK Leaderboard, out of 2,393 teams worldwide. We also had two further teams ranked 126th and 217th globally, both within the top 10%. These outcomes show both the high quality of our students’ performance and the value of this activity as a School-wide experiential learning initiative.
Thanks for all the supports from NUBS all teams, DIG, and Finance SG. Special thanks to our two PGR assistants @Mengya Wu (PGR) and @Congjing Song (PGR) who were helping with Bloomberg Drop-in sessions every week. We cannot achieve such success without all teams’ help.
