Police Communication, Trust, and Public Engagement: Research Meets Practice

The workshop brings together researchers and practitioners to discuss new evidence on how police communication – particularly through social media – shapes public trust, confidence, emotional responses, and engagement. The morning sessions focus on policy, practice, and discussion with people from the Northumbria Police team, while the afternoon is dedicated to academic research, with invited talks on illicit markets, trust in institutions, and the causal effects of police social media exposure.
