The ‘NUBS’ of it – a new podcast series from Newcastle University Business School
We are excited to announce the launch of a new 11-episode podcast series – The ‘NUBS’ of it.
The podcast series will cover a wide range of topics from our ground-breaking research, to the student experience, student engagement and alumni connections, all focusing on the theme of value.
Our first three episodes are out now on our YouTube playlist: The ‘NUBS’ of it podcast.
The second and fourth episode – The Value of the Digital Economy and The Value of Ethics in Business – both focus on our research in these exciting areas.
In the second episode, host Ashleigh King caught up with Dr. Rebecca Casey, Dr. Karen Elliott and Dr. Fiona Whitehurst to chat about the Covid-19 app, the value of financial inclusion, technology and trust in the digital economy and supporting micro businesses online during the pandemic. Each guest discusses issues and considerations and their research in this exciting digital space.

In our fourth episode, Ashleigh speaks to Dr. Cristina Neesham to discuss the value of ethics, the corporate social and sustainability responsibility, how we measure value, what society can do better and her research in this area. She also sits down with Dr. Josie McLaren who has an interest in animal welfare. You’ll hear about the ethics of this topic, how accounting and finance plays a role and how firms can make changes and improvements in this area.
The fourth episode will be released on Friday 15 October and will be added to the YouTube Podcast playlist
