Rosa’s New ‘Rise Fund’ Opens for Applications

The charity Rosa has launched this new fund in response to the great need for sustainability funding among organisations led by and for Black and minoritised women and girls.

The funding will support organisational development work relating to areas such as strategy, governance, leadership, alliances and partnerships, funding, demonstrating impact and systems and processes.

It is expected that between 25 and 30 grants of up to £40,000 will be awarded for two year funding beginning in July 2022 and ending by July 2024.

The grants can be used for the following:

• Direct staff costs
• Associated staff costs
• Volunteer costs
• Other costs directly related to the work being delivered, such as consultancy fees, new systems or membership fees.
• General running costs, which could include rent, utility costs, insurances and any other costs related to the day to day running of the organisation. Up to 15% of the total request can be general running costs.

A range of not-for-profit organisations can apply as long as they are constituted, have been active for at least three years and their average annual income is less than £100,000 per year.

There is particular interest in proposals from organisations that are user-led, those with no recourse to public funds, work with refugee and asylum seekers, women experiencing homelessness, women and girls using drugs and alcohol, women and girls who have been trafficked, those with a disability, older women, LBGT+ women and girls and those working in less economically resilient communities.

Rosa will be hosting three ‘How to Apply’ webinars to be held on 2 December (18:00); 7 December (15:00); and 15 December (13:00).

The deadline for applications is 10 January 2022 (17:00).
