Joint FACCE-JPI SusCrop Call on Agrobiodiversity Open to Applications
FACCE-JPI and SusCrop have launched a Joint Call for research projects addressing agrobiodiversity, with the purposes of providing practical and policy-relevant knowledge on how agrobiodiversity can improve resilience of agroecosystems, especially those most at risk.
Proposals submitted to the Call must address one of the three following topics:
- Agricultural genetic resources
- Agricultural practices and farm models
- Agrobiodiversity and territorial systems
The participating funding parties and indicative budgets are:
- Austria – Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism (BMLRT): €250,000
- Belgium – National Fund for Scientific Research (FRS-FNRS): €200,000
- Denmark – Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries (MFVM): €500,000
- Estonia – Ministry of Rural Affairs (MEM): €100,000
- Estonia – Estonian Research Council (ETAg): €100,000
- Finland – Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MMM): €300,000
- France – French National Research Agency (ANR): €1 million
- Germany – Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL): €500,000
- Ireland – Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM): €1.5 million
- Ireland – Agriculture and Food Development Authority (Teagasc): €288.000
- Italy – Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF): €800,000
- Latvia – Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (LAAFS): €30,000
- Lithuania – Ministry of Agriculture Division of Strategic Planning and Science Department of Economics

Universities and other higher education institutions, public research institutions, private non-profit organisations, and private companies can apply, subject to the national/regional regulations and eligibility criteria. Research consortia should consist of a minimum of three partners seeking funding from at least three different funding parties and countries. Research consortia partners ineligible to receive funding from any of the Funding Parties can be part of research consortia if they bring in their own funding and submit an appropriate ‘commitment letter’.
Applications to the 2022 Joint Call are only eligible if applicants pre-register online by 4 May 2022 (12:00 CEST).
Full proposals must be submitted by 22 June 2022 (12:00 CEST).
