Newcastle University Business School appoints new chair of International Advisory Board
Dennis Shuler has been appointed as the new Chair of Newcastle University Business School’s International Advisory Board.
An established history
Dennis has a wealth of experience working in international business and working with business schools in the UK and the USA.
He currently holds the position of Executive Chairman of Kinetic Consulting, a boutique management consulting firm, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland with a client base in Europe, North America and Latin America, providing strategy consulting to Private Equity. This adds to his business credentials working with high-profile businesses such as Procter & Gamble, Walt Disney and Kellogg’s.
He has also worked with other business schools including the University of Alabama, Brigham Young University, Kansas State University and Xavier University in the United States, and Durham University and Northumbria University in the UK, bringing a wealth of experience to the table.
Dennis said: “I am excited to have this opportunity to work with Stewart and the talented Board members as we work together to extend Newcastle University Business School’s reputation as a positive influencer in the lives of our students and as a key force in the region. On a personal note, I could not be happier to contribute to the School having been based in Newcastle with P&G in the mid-90s.”
Working with Newcastle University Business School
The International Advisory Board is made up of members from a range of backgrounds who provide important external advice to the School. Members are active in supporting the School and engaging with students.
Dennis’s position will be pivotal in the School’s future plans. He’ll work closely with the School’s new Dean, Professor Stewart Robinson, and other Board members to help guide the School’s strategic objectives.
Dennis explains: “Beyond supporting the Dean’s strategic objectives, the board can contribute to the following areas: ensuring the curriculum is appropriately tuned to the challenges that businesses face, impacting student wellbeing through an enhanced student experience, creating meaningful research opportunities for the faculty and, finally, attracting more companies to the School to recruit our outstanding graduates.”
The School looks forward to welcoming Dennis into his new role.
Professor Stewart Robinson, Dean of Newcastle University Business School, said: “I am delighted that Dennis will be taking up the role of Chair of our International Advisory Board. His experience in business, international connections and understanding of the higher education landscape in the UK and overseas, will bring valuable insights to the leadership of the Board. I am looking forward to working with Dennis as we develop the role of the Board in supporting the School’s ambitions.”
Professor Gabriele Vosseberg, Deputy Director of Education and Internationalisation, added: “Dennis brings a wealth of business experience and a global perspective and awareness of the skills needed for students to be successful in the workplace. His international profile adds real value to the Chair role and the work of our International Advisory Board in connecting the school globally for the benefit of our community.”
