Abstract
Business competition is evolving from firm level to business ecosystem level. To address the external shocks of different origins, such as financial crisis, natural disasters, the more recent trade war, and the trend of deglobalization, we propose the concept of ecosystem resilience instead of organizational resilience, focusing more on the interaction among different ecosystem stakeholders. To survive in uncertain environments, organizations must be able to deal with the obstacles, mitigate the risks, and then bounce back stronger than before to maintain competitiveness. Such resilience capabilities, which enable firms or organizations to react to unexpected events and regain a state of normalcy, is attracting more academic and practical interest.
