HaSS Post-Award Workshops | Sharing Experience and Solutions

We are looking at carrying out a pilot event to share and learn from post-award experiences across HaSS. In the first instance will define “post-award” in the broadest sense, to include anything and everything that you experience following a successful award. This could include finance and procurement, recruitment, data management, people and partnership management or anything else you would like to discuss.

If the event is successful, and we have enough interest, we will look to host more events and consider centring them around specific areas.

Event content and structure

We anticipate a fully in person, two-hour event with a group of no more than 20 people, hosted on campus, with the agenda covering three main areas all focused on sharing the experiences of the attendees.

Sharing Experiences: An opportunity to share post-award experiences, good or bad, in a safe space, these will not be shared outside of the event without explicit permission.

Sharing solutions: An opportunity to share solutions and best-practice around post-award issues, these will be reactive depending on the nature of what is shared at the start of the event. With the aim to encourage peer-to-peer learning wherever possible.

What next? An opportunity to discuss what you would find useful from Faculty post-award support in the future, and what themes or areas we should consider covering for future events.

Who should attend?

This event will be aimed at current and previous principal and co-leads of externally funded research within HaSS. This includes first time grant holders and those with lots of experience, everyone will have something different to contribute to the event.
