{"id":10676,"date":"2020-10-06T14:20:39","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T13:20:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/?p=10676"},"modified":"2020-10-06T14:22:04","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T13:22:04","slug":"10676","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/2020\/10\/06\/10676\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating Success: Prof. Savvas Papagiannidis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to <strong>Professor Savvas Papagiannidis<\/strong> on\u00a0his paper \u2018Crowdsourcing: a systematic review of the literature using text mining\u2019 which will shortly be published in\u00a0<em>Industrial Management &amp; Data Systems.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Purpose<\/span> \u2013 This study is a systematic literature review of crowdsourcing that aims to present the research evidence so far regarding the extent to which it can contribute to organisational performance and produce innovations and provide insights on how organisations can operationalise it successfully.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/span> \u2013 The systematic literature review revolved around a text mining methodology analysing 106 papers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Findings<\/span> \u2013 The themes identified are performance, innovation, operational aspects and motivations. The review revealed a few potential directions for future research in each of the themes considered.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Originality<\/span> \u2013 This study employed Quantitative Content Analysis in order to identify the main research themes with higher reliability and validity. It is also the first review on crowdsourcing that incorporates the relevant literature on crowdfunding as a value-creation tool.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Research\/Practical implications<\/span> \u2013 This study helps researchers to consider the recent themes on crowdsourcing and identify potential areas for research.
