These help us to keep the campus tidy and make it easier for facilities staff to clean:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Please do not eat in lecture theatres<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Please ensure that you are recycling waste correctly and using the correct bins, especially not putting food waste into the bins in toilets<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Please ensure that you wear a face covering when moving around the Business School to protect yourself and others<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Wellbeing Support for Business School Students<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Business School has dedicated health and wellbeing support for our students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lisa Kirton- Counsellor\/ Therapist<\/li>\n<li>Emer McConnell- Mental Health Adviser<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They are available to provide support for students all year round.\u00a0 They can be contacted via\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:NUBS.Wellbeing@newcastle.ac.uk\">NUBS.Wellbeing@newcastle.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each Wednesday (during term time) we will send you an email highlighting wellbeing support that is available to Business School students within the School and from across the university. As well as providing a reminder about the support available each week, we will also shine a spotlight on a different university support service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get in touch:<\/strong>\u00a0 If you want an informal chat with our wellbeing team, please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:NUBS.Wellbeing@newcastle.ac.uk\">NUBS.Wellbeing@newcastle.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0and they will be able to sign post you to what support is available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Sources of Support:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Our Student and Staff Wellbeing Service work with local and national organisations to support you and help you maximise your academic potential and gain the most from your time here at Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Support Plans<\/strong>: If you disclose a long-term mental health condition, supported by recent medical evidence, you may be able to access reasonable adjustments and support to help you engage in your studies. Students who have an on-going mental health condition or disability can access a Student Support Plan: <a href=\"mailto:specialistlearning@ncl.ac.uk\">specialistlearning@ncl.ac.uk<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:disabilityadvisor@ncl.ac.uk\">disabilityadvisor@ncl.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mental Health Advisor:<\/strong>\u00a0If you feel you may require support with a mental health issue, you can request an individual assessment appointment:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mentalhealthadvisor@ncl.ac.uk\">mentalhealthadvisor@ncl.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop-In Support:<\/strong>\u00a0Drop-in slots are one off appointments if you are wanting to discuss a particular issue.\u00a0 These are for situations where you do not need a regular appointment but may want to speak to someone about an issue impacting upon your health and wellbeing please contact:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:sws.therapyappointments@ncl.ac.uk\">sws.therapyappointments@ncl.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This service allows you to meet with our Therapist, Lisa to discuss any issue that may be affecting you but where you don\u2019t feel you need a more regular appointment and some advice may help. Lisa can provide counselling for students who may be struggling with life concerns which cause unmanageable emotional or psychological distress. She can also help students to get the most from their university experience and maximise their academic success by providing time focussed counselling. They\u2019re here to help you make the most of your University experience, keep you supported &amp; represent the student voice. Here is a snapshot of what is going on in the NUSU to help support your wellbeing and personal development.<\/p>\n<h3>What\u2019s On?<\/h3>\n<p>Do you want to take a breather from your studies? Check out all the ways that NUSU can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/whatson\/\">help.<\/a> From live music to student offers, taster sessions, to our lunch menus, they have you covered. At the NUSU building, they have lots on offer to provide you with food, drink and entertainment.<\/p>\n<h3>Get Involved<\/h3>\n<p>NUSU has over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/getinvolved\/societies\/\">300 societies<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/getinvolved\/sport\/\">90 sports clubs<\/a>. Societies and sports clubs are a great opportunity to try something new, meet likeminded people and fill your calendar with some fantastic events. We think there\u2019s something for everyone and every interest but if you don\u2019t find what you are looking for you can get in touch to find out how to start your own society. If you want to get involved with something new, but not looking for a commitment of a society or sports club, you can take part in events, activities and sports organised through NUSU\u2019S <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/getinvolved\/giveitago\/\">Give It A Go<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/getinvolved\/giveitago\/\">Campus Leagues.<\/a> Also, if media is your thing, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/getinvolved\/media\/\">student media opportunities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Volunteering<\/h3>\n<p>Volunteering is a fantastic way to develop key skills in an area relevant to your chosen career, work on your personal development, or just lend a helping hand in the local community. NUSU can help you get started. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/volunteering\/\">Go Volunteer<\/a> is a department at your Student\u2019s Union that offers a wide range of internal and external volunteering opportunities to help build your experience, skills and your employability.<\/p>\n<h3>Employability and Awards<\/h3>\n<p>NUSU has a range of ways to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusu.co.uk\/employability\/\">improve your employability<\/a>, including taking part in the Career Development Module, online training and ncl+ Awards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Did you know that when you do any extra-curricular activity, you can get this accredited by the university and put on your degree transcript?
