\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>Workshop on Interdisciplinary Research<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/strong>The workshop will include a panel of colleagues with experience of various forms of research. They will summarise their insights into research approaches, challenges, opportunities and possible strategies and any lessons they might share for collaborating with a range of academic colleagues and other stakeholders when trying to develop intellectual frameworks beyond single disciplinary perspectives. There will be opportunities for participation including discussion, questions and answers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Panel Chair: Greg J. Bamber, Visiting Prof., NUBS, and Director, International Consortium for Research in Employment & Work, Monash Business School, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Ethics, Responsibility and <\/span><\/b>Sustainability Research in NUBS<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Research on ethics, responsibility and sustainability (ERS) has grown and strengthened considerably in the last few years. During this session, several NUBS colleagues (Iain Munro, Rebecca Casey, Erwei Xiang and Cristina Neesham) will be taking an opportunity to briefly share their achievements, work-in-progress and future plans for developing these areas of enquiry. Cristina Neesham will also provide an update of activities within the Systemic ERS International Network based in NUBS. We hope that this moment will encourage all those interested in ERS research collaborations to come together, exchange ideas and establish new connections.<\/p>\n

The war in Ukraine and its impact on business activities in Russia and elsewhere has been a rude slap in the face to wake us all up to the fact that business is not independent of politics.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At this event, Dr Joe Zammit-Lucia, author of <\/span>‘The New Political Capitalism – How businesses and societies can thrive in a deeply politicised world’<\/span><\/a>, entrepreneur and founder of the RADIX public policy think tank will be in conversation with Dr Cristina Neesham, Director of Business Ethics and Social Corporate Responsibility at Newcastle University Business School.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>They will explore how the political landscape has changed over the last two decades, how business is being increasingly impacted by political and geopolitical changes, coming under increasing pressure from all sides to clarify and live by their ethical and political stances on a number of issues, and how this relates to business purpose, strategy and operations.<\/span>

\n<\/span>How can businesses adapt to this changing environment? What new skills are required of business leadership and governance structures? Which businesses will adapt more successfully and thrive in this unfamiliar territory?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
