The LIFE programme is the EU\u2019s funding instrument for the environment and climate action; and contributes to the objectives and targets of the flagship European Green Deal. The 2021-2027 programme has a budget of \u20ac5.4 billion, a 60% increase over the previous funding period.<\/p>\n<p>A total of \u20ac598 million is available for nature conservation, environmental protection, climate action, and clean energy transition projects under LIFE&#8217;s four sub-programmes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nature and Biodiversity &#8211; \u20ac242 million<\/li>\n<li>Circular Economy and Quality of Life &#8211; \u20ac158 million<\/li>\n<li>Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation &#8211; \u20ac99 million<\/li>\n<li>Clean Energy Transition &#8211; \u20ac98 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On 18-20 May 2022, CINEA will hold <a href=\"https:\/\/eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcinea.ec.europa.eu%2Fnews-events%2Fevents%2Feulife22-info-days-2022-05-18_en&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cnubsdirectorofresearch%40newcastle.ac.uk%7C9120bf35c22340d1c3ee08da3828b657%7C9c5012c9b61644c2a91766814fbe3e87%7C1%7C0%7C637884044751458768%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=fiAuQXT9I%2BcOWIAmRcXTd5hG3bNlUJs1Avizx9h%2F9o8%3D&amp;reserved=0\">virtual information sessions<\/a> on the LIFE 2022 Calls for Proposals for potential applicants.
