{"id":14595,"date":"2022-10-21T09:51:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-21T08:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/?p=14595"},"modified":"2022-10-21T09:52:28","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T08:52:28","slug":"centre-for-doctoral-training-plus-in-behavioural-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/2022\/10\/21\/centre-for-doctoral-training-plus-in-behavioural-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre for Doctoral Training Plus in Behavioural Sciences: Call for interest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ESRC have recently announced their call to establish a Centre for Doctoral Training Plus in Behavioural Sciences with an aim to enhance the national capability with researchers <strong>transforming our understanding of human behaviour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals are welcomed from both single research organisations and consortia however, organisations are only allowed to lead one CDT+ proposal.\u00a0 The CDT+ is expected to build a critical mass of interdisciplinary researchers, and therefore we are seeking interest from colleagues from across the University from those working in behavioural science but also, importantly, those whose research may have a connection to understanding human behaviour but who do not normally work in the area.<strong> All disciplines are welcome. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We take a broad definition of what behavioural research encompasses which goes beyond individualistic approached to behaviour change.\u00a0 The definition includes research to answer fundamental questions about how and why people, organisations and groups behave in the way they do within wider societal and economic contexts.<\/p>\n<p>Please could I ask that interested researchers email a few sentences indicating their area of expertise to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/medical-sciences\/people\/profile\/emilyoliver.html\">Emily Oliver<\/a>, Professor of Behavioural Sciences, who is coordinating discussions about Newcastle University\u2019s potential response to the call. \u00a0We are aware that researchers may also be involved in discussions about joining bids led by other institutions; if this is the case please do reach out so that we can coordinate efforts where possible.
