This week we are shining a spotlight on the Safe Taxi Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>As well as providing a reminder about the support available each week, we will also shine a spotlight on a different university support service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Spotlight on\u2026Safe Taxi Scheme<\/h2>\n<p>We have collaborated with Newcastle University Students\u2019 Union to provide\u00a0students with a\u00a0\u2018<strong>Safe Taxi Scheme<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>If you are\u00a0stranded with no money\u00a0to get home but have your student card with you, you can use the service by calling Budget Taxis on 0191 298 5050 and\u00a0quoting reference\u00a0<strong>NEW02<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You will be asked for your name and student number and will need to provide this before a taxi is booked.<\/p>\n<p><em>The driver will not need to keep your Smart Card<\/em>. The safe taxi scheme can be accessed at any time and will cover the cost of up to an \u00a38 fare. The Students\u2019 Union will contact students who have accessed this service.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nusu.co.uk\/support\/welfare-centre\/safety\"><strong>Find out more about safety and reporting.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Wellbeing Support for Business School Students<\/h2>\n<p>The Business School has dedicated health and wellbeing support for our students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Counselling &#8211; to arrange an assessment, please contact <a href=\"mailto:sws.therapyappointments@ncl.ac.uk\">sws.therapyappointments@ncl.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Disability Support (including Mental Health, long term Physical Health conditions, Specialist Learning) Please contact <a href=\"mailto:disabilityadvisor@ncl.ac.uk\">disabilityadvisor@ncl.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Welfare Support \u2013 <a href=\"mailto:wellbeingconsultancy@ncl.ac.uk\">wellbeingconsultancy@ncl.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Sources of Support:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Our Student and Staff Wellbeing Service work with local and national organisations to support you and help you maximise your academic potential and gain the most from your time here at Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Support Plans<\/strong>: If you disclose a long-term mental health condition, supported by recent medical evidence, you may be able to access reasonable adjustments and support to help you engage in your studies.
