MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships support researchers with a doctoral degree and a maximum of 8 years of post-graduate experience. The mobility of researchers is a key requirement in all MSCA schemes. There are 2 types of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships. The\u00a0European Postdoctoral Fellowships<\/em>\u00a0support a stay of up to 24 months in any European host institution. The\u00a0Global Postdoctoral Fellowships<\/em>\u00a0include an \u201coutgoing phase\u201d of 12 to 24 months to a host institution in a non-European country, followed by a mandatory \u201creturn phase\u201d of 12 months at a host institution based in an EU Member State or a\u00a0Horizon Europe<\/em>\u00a0Associated Country. COST does not provide funding for research itself, but for a broad range of networking and collaboration activities and opportunities, including meetings, workshops, conferences, training schools, short-term scientific missions (STSM), and dissemination activities. COST Actions are bottom-up and can be on any topic, however they must fulfill certain criteria in order to be approved, such as including researchers from at least seven COST Member countries, half of whom come from the\u00a0Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC)<\/a>. The call provides free access for researchers around the globe to cutting-edge transnational services to improve treatment and patients’ outcomes through innovative ways to address clinical trials and research. \u200bProjects submitted in response to the call should focus on one of the following two topics:<\/p>\n The\u00a0indicative overall budget for the call is \u20ac600,000. Deadline 28 August<\/strong> 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The European Commission has announced the re-launch of the\u00a0MSCA4Ukraine scheme\u00a0to support displaced scientists from Ukraine. It will provide fellowships for doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers, thus allowing them to continue their work in academic or non-academic organisations in EU Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe (including the U.K) The second call for applications is expected to be published in June 2024 and interested parties are encouraged to subscribe to\u00a0the dedicated mailing list<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Official development assistance (ODA) related funding<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The application window for the International Office Global Partnerships Fund is now open until 30 June 2024<\/strong>.\u00a0 We\u00a0have also just confirmed that there will be some additional funding available for ODA eligible projects<\/a>\u00a0complete before 31 March 2025, up to \u00a320,000 per project.\u00a0Full details and compliance information can be found on the updated Global Partnerships Fund<\/a>, and the linked Key Application Documents at the end of the page.\u00a0The application questions can be viewed in full there, but remain unchanged, aside from one check box on ODA compliance.\u00a0If your planned project does not meet the ODA criteria, it will still be considered for \u00a35,000 Global Partnerships Funding as planned.\u00a0 There is no need to do anything differently, but please share this information with any relevant colleagues.\u00a0Thank you for your understanding; although this is a last-minute change, it will allow more projects to be funded.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This opportunity seeks to improve the connectivity between UK and Brazilian social science research communities. Deadline 09 July 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The aim of the Africa-UK Physics Partnership Programme is to stimulate collaboration between UK and Africa based physicists. The programme will build and sustain a skilled and talented cohort of early career researchers to explore where physics can contribute to the challenges of climate change, sustainable energy and the growth of fundamental physics in eligible countries. The programme will develop equitable partnerships between Africa and UK based researchers. It will address identified challenges and barriers associated with undertaking physics research in sub-Saharan Africa, and will facilitate the sharing of skills, knowledge and expertise, vital for capacity building and research careers. Call to open 9 July, with workshop in Kenya 10-12 July and proposal deadline 17 September 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n General international<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to \u00a31 million to develop projects focused on industrial research with the Israel Innovation Authority. Deadline 30 October 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to \u00a31 million to develop technologies in the field of disaster resilience, response and recovery, in partnership with organisations from participating Eureka countries. Deadline 31 October 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n EPSRC has opened the Outline stage of their next International Centre to Centre Research Collaborations Funding Opportunity (Outline Stage). This opportunity enables researchers from all EPSRC disciplines to apply for funding (of project duration 3-5 years) to form world-leading partnerships and work with the best international collaborators for their research. Full economic cost of projects can be up to \u00a31,8M over 3-5 years. EPSRC will hold a webinar of 25 June 2024, with Outline deadline 25 September 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Funding to collaborate with a Canadian Alliance Missions critical minerals research project to develop partnerships to address key critical minerals research priorities around optimising efficiency and minimising environmental impact across critical minerals value chains. Projects can be up to \u00a3240,000 (fEC) over 24 months. Online networking workshop on 10 June 2024 with deadline 3 October 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The funding is to provide opportunities for early career researchers from both countries and a wide spectrum of disciplines and backgrounds to develop new collaborations which will benefit their future professional development. The UK project lead is expected to develop equitable partnerships with researchers based in Brazil who should be on the application as project co-lead (international) to stimulate new research collaboration that can deliver mutual and tangible benefits. Project can be up to \u00a320k over 3-6 months. Opening 06 June with deadline 20 August 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This programme provides UK-based researchers, active in any discipline within the humanities or the social sciences, with the opportunity to develop and lead international and interdisciplinary research projects related to the theme of Just Transitions<\/u>. Awards of 24 months in duration and up to \u00a3300,000 are available. Deadline 18 September 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The\u00a0OECD Cooperative Research Programme<\/a>\u00a0(CRP) on Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems has opened its\u00a0call for applications<\/a>\u00a0for international event sponsorship and research fellowship grants to be funded in 2025. The UK is amongst the 30 OECD countries participating in the CRP, which supports research collaboration related to the sustainable use of natural resources in agriculture, food, forestry and fisheries. Applications should fit into one of the following three research themes: Managing natural capital; Strengthening resilience in the face of multiple risks in a connected world; Transformational technologies and innovation.
