Research Funding Development: Quiet Time for Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Booking now open for September 2024 to January 2025!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colleagues are invited to attend a series of research funding proposal writing sessions.\u00a0 These sessions are designed to give you quiet time and space to work on your research funding proposal.\u00a0 The time will be largely for you to write quietly. A Research Funding Development Team colleague will be available to answer questions.<\/p>\n

To attend, you need to have an idea for a research project, programme or fellowship and be ready to start writing to convert this into a funding proposal (or have already started writing).\u00a0 You ideally need to have identified the funding competition that you are writing for.<\/p>\n

The sessions will be two-hour writing sessions.\u00a0 You are not required to attend every session, although you are welcome to.<\/p>\n

Training Workshop: Writing a Narrative CV<\/strong><\/p>\n

Researchers are increasingly being asked to write \u201cnarrative CVs.\u201d Narrative CV formats, which UKRI call the R\u00e9sum\u00e9 for Research and Innovation (R4RI)<\/a><\/u>, prompt descriptions of contributions and achievements, allowing researchers to reflect a broader range of skills and experiences. In this workshop, we will explain why a narrative CV is different to a traditional academic CV, describe the different sections of the narrative CV and what contributions should go in each section<\/p>\n

Training Workshop: ESRC New Investigator Grant and AHRC Catalyst Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n

This interactive in person workshop provides an opportunity for researchers who are considering writing an application to one of these calls to develop their understanding of the schemes as well as help prepare a proposal.\u00a0 At the end of the workshop participants will be able to decide if the scheme is right for them as well as understand the structure and content needed for the proposal.<\/p>\n

To explain what an early-career fellowship is and to help you prepare for fellowship success.\u00a0 At the end of the workshop participants will be able to decide if a fellowship is right for them and understand the components of a high-quality fellowship application.<\/p>\n

Getting those Grants: Research Funding Writing Retreat for Established (Mid-Career) Researchers<\/b><\/p>\n

The Research Funding Development Team are holding Research Funding Writing Retreats aimed at Established (Mid-Career) Researchers from all faculties who are preparing a research funding application and want to block time out to focus on writing. There are two dates currently available, 13\/14th<\/sup>\u00a0February and 2nd<\/sup>\/3rd<\/sup>\u00a0June, both with an on campus location.<\/p>\n

The Writing Retreat will consist of a structured timetable with set times for independent writing and regular breaks. Members of the Research Funding Development Team will be on hand to support writers with their grant applications.<\/p>\n
