{"id":17900,"date":"2025-11-20T08:30:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T08:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/?p=17900"},"modified":"2025-11-20T08:30:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T08:30:27","slug":"celebrating-success-dr-jose-liu-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.ncl.ac.uk\/nubsstaffblog\/2025\/11\/20\/celebrating-success-dr-jose-liu-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating Success &#8211; Dr Jose Liu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Congratulations to Dr Jose Liu who has been coordinating our participation in this year\u2019s Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge and highlights the scale of the activity he has been leading.\u00a0 The Challenge each year is to utilize our digital resource (Bloomberg terminals) and to enrich students\u2019 practical learning experience. In 2025, we had 23 teams with 87 student participants from across different schools and disciplines at our university, which required substantial organisation and continuous guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This year\u2019s results maintain at a strong position.\u00a0<b>Our best team, \u201cMAR\u201d, was ranked 18th on the Global Leaderboard, 3rd on the Europe Leaderboard, and 3rd on the UK Leaderboard, out of 2,393 teams worldwide<\/b>. We also had two further teams ranked 126<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 217<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0globally, both within the top 10%. These outcomes show both the high quality of our students\u2019 performance and the value of this activity as a School-wide experiential learning initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Thanks for all the supports from NUBS all teams, DIG, and Finance SG. Special thanks to our two PGR assistants\u00a0<span class=\"undefined lpcCommonWeb-hoverTarget container-311\" role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Mengya Wu (PGR)\" data-lpc-hover-target-id=\"lpc-react-target-33\" data-is-focusable=\"true\"><span class=\"X0iCk\">@Mengya Wu (PGR)<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<span class=\"undefined lpcCommonWeb-hoverTarget container-311\" role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Congjing Song (PGR)\" data-lpc-hover-target-id=\"lpc-react-target-34\" data-is-focusable=\"true\"><span class=\"X0iCk\">@Congjing Song (PGR)<\/span><\/span>\u00a0who were helping with Bloomberg Drop-in sessions every week.
