2026-27 FINAL Work programme call topics<\/a><\/p>\n

1. NEW:<\/b>\u00a0MSCA awards \u20ac404.3 million to postdoctoral researchers:\u00a0<\/b>https:\/\/marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.ec.europa.eu\/news\/msca-awards-eu4043-million-to-postdoctoral-researchers<\/a><\/p>\n

The European Commission will award \u20ac404.3 million to\u00a01610 postdoctoral researchers\u00a0to work at top universities, research centres, private and public organisations and small and medium-sized enterprises. The European Research Executive Agency (REA)\u00a0received 17,066 applications for this call, of which 16,836 were eligible and were evaluated. 1610 projects were selected. This result corresponds to a\u00a09.6% success rate. The selected applicants represent nearly\u00a080 nationalities. They will work in\u00a045 countries\u00a0in Europe, including the UK, and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

2. NEW:\u00a0<\/b>NIHR announces global health research calls for 2026:\u00a0<\/b>https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/news\/nihr-announces-global-health-research-calls-2026<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

New funding calls will open in April 2026 and will focus on the most pressing health problems in the poorest countries. The changes to the programme help to ensure UK aid is used where it can have the greatest impact. From 2026, NIHR funding will focus on 2 regions: sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. All new applications should help people living in\u00a0Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible countries\u00a0within these regions. In April 2026, the NIHR will launch a new yearly funding scheme addressing global health security threats. Each year the call will have a new theme. The first year will focus on later-stage trials and implementation research to tackle antimicrobial resistance. This call will offer different levels of funding, from smaller projects to larger programmes of up to \u00a35 million.<\/p>\n

The European Commission invites participants to tune in to their Info Day covering the destinations and topics of the NEB Facility 2026 under Horizon Europe. The webinar will provide an overview of the calls, practical guidance for potential applicants, and time for questions and answers.<\/p>\n

The programme will include introductory remarks, pitching sessions to present project ideas, and one-to-one meetings to help participants identify suitable partners. The scheme provides funding for short-term international and inter-sectoral exchanges of staff members involved in research and innovation activities of participating organisations.
