1. NEW:<\/b>\u00a0ERC clarifies rules on funding and structuring project teams\u00a0<\/b>https:\/\/www.ukro.ac.uk\/news\/erc-grants-funding-and-design-of-project-team-members\/<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

The UK Research Office (UKRO) has published new guidance on how researchers applying for European Research Council (ERC) grants should design and justify their project teams, emphasising the central and unique role of the Principal Investigator (PI). The guidance confirms that teams can be flexible, but the PI must remain the clear scientific lead, with all roles aligned to the project\u2019s aims. It also notes that team members may be based anywhere in the world, additional institutions may be included when scientifically essential, and Synergy Grants continue to operate with two to four equal PIs. Teams may evolve during the project provided changes remain within budget and ERC rules.<\/p>\n

Through structured networking, information sessions, and targeted signposting, the event aims to support career development, build connections, and promote the new partnership with the Marie Curie Alumni Association for Guarantee MSCA grant holders. Travel expenses for attending this event will be an eligible cost to your Guarantee grant. It will explain how the programme works, outline the application process, and set out what supervisors are expected to do.
