10 Reasons to go on a campus tour

If you want to see what we have to offer but can’t make it to one of our Open Days, you don’t need to panic as we regularly run campus tours throughout the year.

These are your chance to visit the campus and see our facilities at a time which suits you. Here are just 10 reasons you should go on a campus tour.

1. They’re ran by our students

The best part of a campus tour is that it’s ran by current students that have all been in your situation before and understand what you are going through.

What’s even better is they’re more than happy to answer any of your questions. Use the opportunity to find out about student life, applying for finance or the city – they’ll be able to share their own experiences and opinions with you.

2. Tours run from May to November

Unlike our open days which are only held three times a year, our campus tours run continuously from May to November, allowing you to come and visit us at a time more suitable for you.

You can book your place on a campus tour easily online and then all you have to do is turn up on the day you’ve chosen.

3. They’re not as busy as our open days

Another good reason to come on a campus tour is that the campus isn’t as busy as an Open Day. This means you will have more opportunities to ask questions and you can also visit facilities such as the Library or Students’ Union when they aren’t as busy.

4. You’ll get to know the campus

Going on a campus tour is a great way to see all of our facilities and what they have to offer. Your guide will give you detailed information about the buildings on campus and services inside of them.

Did you know our Students’ Union has a Dominos, Subway, Santander and its own bar? That’s just one of the many important facts you’ll learn on a campus tour.

5. It’s your chance to come back and visit

Did you come to an Open Day but didn’t get time to do a campus tour? Or do you want to see the campus again? Well this is your chance to take a look around.

Just book a date that’s convenient for you and we’ll look forward to welcoming you back onto our campus.

6. It’s an opportunity to check out the city

It’s just over the road from our campus!

Paying us a visit is a great way to see our campus and get a feel for the uni. However, it’s also a good opportunity to explore your potential future surroundings, and see if they’re suited to your hobbies and interests.

Take a walk into the city and have a browse of the high street or head to the Grainger Market to try some of the amazing  street food they have to offer. Getting  a feel for the city will help you make your mind up as to if Newcastle is the place for you.

7. You can check out the Accommodation

Most students will live in Halls during their first year. If you have time while you’re here for a campus tour, you can also book a tour to visit our accommodation facilities. As seeing it for yourself will help you decide where you might like to live.

Most of our halls are within walking distance of the campus and we offer a range of accommodation to suit all budgets.

8. You can see it for yourself

So you’ve looked through the prospectus and had a go at the virtual tours but the best way to decide on a university is to see it for yourself!

The campus tour will give you the opportunity to see where you could be potentially studying. Seeing the campus in the flesh will provide you with a better insight than any prospectus will, and it’ll help you to decide what you want from a university.

9. You’ll meet other potential students

Lots of other students like yourself will be booking to go on a campus tour and this might just be your golden opportunity to meet people in your shoes who are also trying to chose a university. You may even find another student who is interested in the same course as you.

10. It’s great motivation for exams

There’s nothing more motivational than planning your future and deciding where you’d like to study.

If you decide to choose Newcastle, visiting the campus to see the facilities and students studying here will give you a boost of motivation to get your personal statement finished and smash those exams so you can enroll as a student here!

Those are just 10 reasons to come on a campus tour, so what are you waiting for? Get yourself booked up today.
