As the holder of a Newcastle University degree, you are part of a unique, lifelong community. Wehave a worldwide community of over 190,000 graduates. We’re here to help you make connections, through our professional networks and social groups.
To help you in your future life as a graduate of Newcastle University, here are 6 things you’ll get access to as one of our alumni.
After completing your degree, you might not be ready to enter the world of work. You might want to add to your knowledge or even start learning something new.
If that’s your dream, we’re here to help by offering all alumni 20% off further study here at Newcastle University. So you can stay in the Toon longer and learn for less.
If you’re entering the world of work after graduating, we can help with that too. The Careers Service offer graduates free career support for 3 years after graduation.
That means free help with your CV, free help preparing for interviews and free career advice to help plan your future.
Don’t forget to register with the Careers Service after graduating to benefit from all they can offer.
You might not have a student card any more, but being an alumna/alumnus means you can still get discounted membership to the Uni’s gym.
Graduates also get discounted access to our libraries so you can relive those all-nighters in the Robbo for years to come.
As a graduate, each year you get an invitation to Convocation – our yearly gathering of alumni on campus.
Not only is it a chance to visit your alma mater and hear about all the University’s latest developments from the Vice-Chancellor, but there are also plenty of other events during the day and a celebration party in the evening
Through the NCL Professional Network, our graduates can build up their contacts through regular networking events.
We hold events around the country and you can also connect virtually through our LinkedIn group. Do also look out for the launch of our online networking platform coming later this year.
Recent graduates can still access all the start-up support provided by our business incubator, START UP.
Not only that, but you can also apply for the Founderships programme which provides over £10,000 worth of support to get your business off the ground.
We’re always developing new ways to help support our graduates, so make sure you stay in touch.
