How To Apply To Food and Human Nutrition

Are you thinking of applying to Food and Human Nutrition at Newcastle Uni? Now you’ve made up your mind on which course you’d like to study, it’s time to get started on your application and your journey to coming to join us next September.

Here’s a step by step guide on how you go about getting a place to study Food and Human Nutrition at Newcastle University.

Fill out your UCAS form

Although there are a few sections to your UCAS application, your personal statement is very important so try to really sell yourself.

Show your enthusiasm for the subject. Tell us about relevant hobbies, volunteering or work experience. Explain what skills and personal qualities these have helped you develop. We’ve got more advice on writing your Food and Human Nutrition personal statement here.

Receive your offers

After you’ve submitted your application, we’ll let UCAS know if you’ve been successful in getting an offer and any grades you need to achieve. You’ll then need to log into UCAS Track to accept or decline your offers. If you accept our offer, you should start thinking about where you want to live. The great news is we guarantee you university accommodation if you apply before our deadline.

Did you know, there’s also a chance you maybe eligible for a lower offer when applying to Newcastle University?

Attend a post-application Visit Day

After we’ve made you an offer, we’ll get in touch to invite you to visit us on a Post-application Visit Day. These are a chance to get a real sense of what the course is like here. You’ll meet staff and students, see facilities, and can explore our student friendly city. Why not make a weekend of it and find out why we’re one of the UK’s favourite city breaks!

Results Day

It’s time to uncross those fingers and open those results! If you get the required grades for your offer, you will see in UCAS Track that your place has been confirmed.

If you’ve missed your grades and are not placed at your chosen institution, don’t panic. You can still apply to universities through Clearing. Universities advertise Clearing places on their websites, so get online then call them as soon as you can.  Keep an eye on our Clearing site for more information closer to the time

Countdoon to the ‘Toon’

You’ve accepted your offer and made your grades and now it’s the countdown to joining us.

In your first week you can expect to settle into your accommodation, register for university services and make new friends at Freshers’ Week. You can find a handy checklist of things to pack here, plan your journey here, and info on Freshers’ Week activities here.

We can’t wait to see you in September.
