How to balance work and play like a PRO

A Picture of Robina

Want to do well at uni but still get out there and not live in your room like a hobbit? Then follow my three tried and tested, fail safe ways to balance your workload and social life. Literally like a PRO.

P is for PRIORITISE

The workload at uni can seem daunting so this is perhaps the most important tip of all. Making a timetable of all your deadlines and tackling them one at a time starting with the one that is due first is the best way to keep on top of your work. This way you won’t find yourself up at 1am the night before a deadline completing a mystery assignment you didn’t know you had.

R is for REWARD

It’s all about BALANCE. This is a win win situation, not only does it helps you get work done but it also allows you to switch off, kick back and enjoy yourself too. How this works is you set yourself a goal of how much work you want to complete, and when you complete it as a reward you can take a break and treat yourself! Using a chocolate bar, watching your favourite TV show, or hanging out with your friends is a great tool to keep you motivated whilst you go about your work.

O is for OPTIMISM

Don’t ignore this one! They say you can do anything if you put your mind to it, and this is definitely the case with uni work. Before you freak out looking at all your workload, take a step back and B R E A T H E. Keeping a positive outlook towards your work telling yourself you CAN and WILL get it done helps tons with getting over those dreaded mental blocks and will leave you more time to do the things you enjoy.
