Perfectly positioned between the popular student areas of Sandyford and Heaton, this spectacular display may just be a short walk from home for some. Running for over 30 years and annually drawing crowds of thousands, the Ouseburn Fireworks Display is a firm local favourite; and best of all it’s completely free to attend!

Where: Saltwell Park, Gateshead, NE8
One of the largest shows in the area and boasting to be bigger and better than ever before, Saltwell Park is all set for another huge firework extravaganza in 2018! Hosted by Metro Radio, enjoy live music from some of the North East’s best emerging talent alongside rides, stalls and one of the largest displays you’re likely to catch.

With a roaring bonfire, hot food stalls, bars and fairground rides galore, celebrating Guy Fawkes Night by the coast is sure to be a glittering affair you won’t soon forget. So, wrap up warm, hop on a Metro and join the fun!

One of the city’s most popular shows, Blue Flames will be lighting up the sky once again this year with a huge, breath-taking display to delight all who attend. Throw in some piping hot food, drink and, of course, fairground rides and you’ve got yourself a banging Bonfire Night out!

Where: Broadway West Playing Fields, Gosforth NE3
Tickets/Book: £4.40 (all profits go to local charities)
Looking for a more relaxed evening? Then get yourselves along to Gosforth as the Round Table host a smaller, more intimate display. With no pricey frills to distract, you can concentrate on huddling up around the bonfire with your mates, waving sparklers to your heart’s content and simply enjoying the spectacle. Plus, all proceeds go toward helping local charities.

Where: Summerhill Bowling Club, Winchester Terrace, NE4
Conveniently located right here in the town centre, just off Westgate Road, expect a magical celebration, steeped in the history of the area. Featuring large-scale open-air performances, sculpture art, song and fireworks as well as, of course, a roaring bonfire.
