Summer has arrived so it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to fill up your time. Even if you have important things planned, it’s always good to squeeze in some time to let your hair down. Here are some fun summer activities to unwind from exam stress.
No matter where you are in the UK, you can never be too far from the sea. Here in Newcastle we’re very lucky to have 4 beautiful beaches that are only a 25 minute metro ride away! Get together with your pals and head to your closest sandy spot. It’s an enjoyable day out, and never too expensive. You can unwind with ice-cream, fish and chips and a summer read by the beach.
When the weather is nice, there’s nothing like a good BBQ. Get some of your closest friends over and chill out with some tasty BBQ treats. This is a cheap option, just ask everyone to bring along a contribution. A sausage here or there from everybody and you’ll be sorted for a lovely afternoon.
The festival season comes around quickly. If you can’t afford a big one, there’s always a smaller festival. If music isn’t your thing, there’s always going to be lots of summer food festivals and markets.
Obviously, this is one of the more expensive options, but you can still always get pretty cheap deals. I got flights to Paris for just £45! If that isn’t an excuse to get away, I don’t know what is! Keep an eye out for last minute travel deals on sites like lastminute.com this summer and you could be heading for a surprise break.
When it’s getting closer to the time you and your friends head off to university, you could get together and make a fun memory. Head out for lunch or throw a dinner party. You all have some fun and give each other a really special farewell.
