What happens after UCAS deadline day

So you’ve chosen your perfect course, completed your UCAS application, and pressed the big red button marked APPLY.
Great work! But you can’t put your feet up just yet. There’s still lots to do after deadline day…

Get Revising

Media Studies

Yep, it doesn’t matter if you’re waiting for an offer or you have five in the bag already. You need to get those grades to secure your place. It’s time to hit the books!

Visit the campus

July Open Day 2016

Get a feel for the place you’re going to call home for the next three (or more!) years. There are lots of ways to visit the campus. Come to a post-application visit day  , or take a guided tour .

Visiting campus lets you look at facilities, get a feel for the city, and meet current students.

Apply for student finance

It’s best to start preparing as soon as possible – delays to your application mean delays to your student loan payments. Universities also use the student finance forms to assess your eligibility for various bursaries and scholarships .

You’ll need to submit some paperwork, so start getting everything in order now.

Look at accommodation options

Newcastle University has guaranteed accommodation for eligible students  so there’s no need to worry about getting a roof over your head. You’ll be asked to choose a minimum of six options, so take a look at our accommodation to get an idea of the range we offer.
