Make the Most of Freshers’ Week

A Picture of Becky

You may have heard that Freshers’ Week will be one of the best weeks of your life. Well Newcastle’s Freshers’ Week certainly lives up to expectations!

The week will fly by so here is how to make the most of it…

Freshers’ Wristband

The Students’ Union run the official Freshers’ Week events by issuing a wristband which you can purchase before or upon arrival. I think the wristband is great value for money as it entitles you to participate in both the amazing daytime and evening events!

You can do all sorts of activities from grub crawls to bubble football, trips to the beach or comedy nights – there is something for everybody!

The daytime events are a great way to bond with flatmates and meet new people too! The night time events showcase Newcastle’s vibrant night life!

Newcastle has plenty of delicious restaurants that you could sample on the grub tours!

Freshers’ Fair

Freshers’ Fair is a MUST. Make sure you factor in some time to pop to the Sports Centre to find all that Newcastle Uni has to offer. Sign up for sports, arts, music and much more! Why not even try something new?!

During Freshers’ Week you’ll have plenty of time to explore the campus and city. Try to find key buildings, such as the SU, the library (a.k.a ‘The Robbo’) and your subject building, so when lectures begin there is no panic!

If you have any questions or issues during Freshers’ Week keep an eye out for members of Freshers’ Crew who will be wearing brightly coloured T-shirts and fancy dress! They are there to help you out and make sure the week runs smoothly so that you have a fantastic time!
