Student Room September Roundup

It’s been a busy month on The Student Room, with students asking all sorts of questions about applications, courses and PARTNERS in preparation for the UCAS deadline.

Yes you need to put a ‘P’ in the further details box on your UCAS form. We won’t be able to process your PARTNERS application until your UCAS application is fully complete as we need your predicted grades submitted by your teacher to assess your eligibility. Please don’t submit your PARTNERS application form until you are at the stage to also submit your UCAS form to UCAS. Once you’ve completed the PARTNERS programme online application you can ask the most relevant member of staff in your school/college to verify your application. This member of staff will then confirm your application and provide additional information where necessary. They will complete the reference and send the forms to us. The deadlines are: 15 October 2016 for Medicine and Dentistry applications, and 15 January 2017 for all other applications. If you have any other questions you can watch our PARTNERS webinar or have a look at the PARTNERS site. If you need any more help please ask us!

If you have at least one science amongst the three grade As at A level – from the following: Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics,Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics – plus GCSE Maths and at least one science at grade B or higher, then we would most likely make you an offer.

Our Newcastle University Accommodation Swaps Facebook page is busy with other students looking for a room swap. The Facebook Page is the best way to swap rooms with another student if you are unhappy with your accommodation offer.

Should you just miss out on the conditions of your offer come results day you would be classed as a near miss and would be reconsidered depending on the spaces available. You could also consider PARTNERS, a supported entry route that would provide you with a lower conditional offer dependent upon the completion of a summer school.
