Things to look forward to now you’ve applied

With UCAS applications submitted and exams and coursework deadlines looming, here’s some great stuff about Newcastle University and city that will give you something to look forward to!

Domino’s, Subway and Starbucks located in the NUSU

It’s not a joke, you really can get a fresh pizza, toasted sandwhich or Starbucks fix right in the centre of campus! Be sure to keep an eye out for the great deals that Dominos offer throughout the year so you can save those pennies.

Majorie Robinson Libary Rooms

Who said that you can’t get excited about a trip to the library? Inevitably you will spend alot of your time in the library over the next few years so it’s only right that we let you know about the best spots.

The Majorie Robinson is the newest library on campus and features some of the best areas to study, chill out and do group work. There are comfy sofas, awesome group study booths featuring large TV screens and free charging stations.

The Quayside is one of the nicest spots in the city, where restaurants and bars line the River Tyne offering scenic views of the Millennium Bridge.

A great place for foodies after all kinds of dishes, a lovely place for a walk or run and let’s not forget the Sunday markets featuring everything from household goods to freshly-baked brownies.

The Careers Service

Careers Service

Whether you’re looking to make some extra pennies whilst you’re here or you want help finding a graduate job the careers service is the place to go. They run regular events aimed at helping you write a CV, prepare for an interview or land a job at the recruitment events they host.

And if that wasn’t enough they also have Jobs On Campus (JOBSOC) for part time work and Newcastle Work Experience for term-time and summer internships.

Although we’re a campus-based University we’re also conveniently located in the city centre of Newcastle. Just a short walk off campus will lead you to the centre of town where you can grab student supplies such as stationery or food.

There is a large shopping mall in the city centre called INTU Eldon Square which will fulfil all of your shopping needs from Topshop to John Lewis. You won’t be stuck for food either as there are restaurants galore in the mall and surrounding areas of the city.

Tyneside Cinema

If it’s entertainment you’re after Tyneside Cinema shows films in the most beautiful surroundings or you could go bowling at Lane 7 which also doubles as a restaurant and bar.
