Beamish Museum Visit


4th November, 9:30am

Step back in time with Give it a Go and discover the North East’s past first-hand at this world famous living, working museum. From navigating the footpaths amid full costumed townsfolk to treating yourself to something yummy from the ever-popular Jubilee Sweet Shop; Beamish is a top class history lesson wrapped up in an enchanting experience of life as it was once lived.

Let the Curry Battle commence! Hosting a spicy alternative to your more traditional winter warmer celebrations, Wylam Brewery opens its doors once again, inviting vendors from across the region to step up to the challenge if they think they’re hot enough. Who will be crowned king of the curries? Come along, get tasting and have your say!

Ice Skating, Centre for Life


11th November – Feb 18

There’s nothing quite like wrapping up warm on a cold winter’s night and heading out for a whirl on the ice at the Centre for Life’s open air rink. Gliding around under the Centre’s illuminated glass front isn’t just great fun, it’s great exercise too! Plus, you’re perfectly positioned to warm up afterwards in your choice Newcastle’s many restaurants and bars.

Newcastle Christmas Lights Switch On


14th November, from 5.30pm (lights at 6.30pm)

With the clocks back and days getting shorter, the city prepares to be adorned once more with almost 20,000 sparkling Christmas lights. Meet at Grey’s Monument and join an expected 5,000 strong crowd, local celebrities and the Lord Mayor of Newcastle in lighting up our streets with a dazzling injection of festive cheer.

16th – 19th November

Returning for the fifth year, see the peaceful streets, bridges and buildings of Durham illuminated in marvellous displays of colour and movement. With artists from across the world contributing to this year’s 29 radiant artworks, a ticket to Durham is sure to bring warmth and cheer to a dark November evening. Plus, we still have some spaces available with Give it a Go!

Newcastle International Christmas Market


17th November – 10th December

Head to the town centre and enjoy festive treats and tastes from around the globe at this year’s International Christmas Market. From sweet French crepes and Italian biscotti to mouth-watering German currywurst and Spanish paella, you’re sure to leave with a belly as full as your bag of one-off stocking fillers!

18th November, 8am

Being just a couple of hours from one of the UK’s biggest and best Christmas Markets, Give it a Go are snapping up the opportunity to show you around Scotland’s glittering capital at this most magical time of year. So, relax, see the sights and shop ‘til you drop whilst our friendly team of Student Ambassadors take care of planning your travel itinerary.

Star Wars Spectacular, Sage Gateshead


23rd – 24th  November, 7.30pm

With less than a month to go until the new Star Wars blockbuster hits screens, experience the Royal Northern Sinfonia’s epic take on the saga’s timeless soundtrack. Demanding only the highest specification of world class acoustics, the Sage’s largest and most spectacular auditorium, Sage One, is sure not to disappoint in fully immersing you into a galaxy far, far away….

Great Northern Soul Food Winter Warmer, Boiler Shop


25th November, 1pm

Foodies rejoice! As one of the city’s trendiest venues, Boiler Shop, welcomes finger-licking street food from some of the North’s finest vendors to their industrial warehouse style setting. Get ready to enjoy great food, live music and a buzzing atmosphere through the day, before top Soul and Funk DJs set the dance floor alight in the evening.
