Nothing beats watching your friends recreate Torvill & Dean style moves on the ice, or at least try to! With a reduced price of £7.50 for students, the outdoor ice skating at the Centre for Life is both fun and keeps you fit!
If you’re looking for something a bit different to get for your friends & family this Christmas, the Newcastle Christmas Markets held at Grey’s Monument give you plenty of options. Open from 4th – 8th December, there’s nothing more festive than warming your hands around a mug of mulled wine and browsing the stalls.

Why not take a seat for a night of laugh-out-loud comedy and some outrageous costumes? There’s a whole host of theatres to choose from in the City, but we’ve narrowed down the search to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Theatre Royal, and not forgetting Improv Panto from the Suggestibles, at our very own Northern Stage.
The tree is up, the lights are on, and whilst the high street may be overflowing with Christmas shoppers, you can always rely on our Students’ Union to lay on some festive activities. Why not have a go at decoration making, or pop down to our festive film night?
You can’t get much more Christmassy than carols by candlelight! Every year, the University holds an evening of Christmas carols, so why not get a group together and head down to St Thomas’ church to get in the festive mood!
