5 A levels you didn’t know existed

After almost 2 years studying your choices, have you ever wondered what other A levels could have been on offer? We’ve scoured the web for the most obscure and unexpected A levels that some students have the chance to pick:

1. Citizenship Studies

Want to develop your ability to advocate, negotiate, plan, make decisions and take action on Citizenship issues? You’ll select, interpret, analyse and evaluate information to construct reasoned and coherent arguments.

2. Divinity

The Divinity syllabus covers three core areas: The Prophets of the Old Testament, The Four Gospels and The Apostolic Age.

3. World Development

This subject combines a range of perspectives on a number of contemporary development issues, addresses concepts, processes and issues in development, resources, poverty and inequality and global citizenship.

4. Use of Mathematics

Soon to be a thing of the past, Use of Mathematics was available as an AS from AQA. Use of Mathematics encourages students to apply Mathematics to their studies, work and interests, solve problems, and use ICT appropriately within Mathematics. You’ll engage with real-life Maths, preparing you for the future.

5. Biblical Hebrew

You’ll study elements of the language and literature of the Biblical world, learning in depth about the culture, politics and social life of both early Israelite and Judean Society.
