Top 5 Places to Spend Bonfire Night

Time flies and before you know it, we’re already into November. However, the good thing is, Bonfire night is almost upon us! You know, the magical night where the sky becomes a little more sparkly than usual. Haven’t experienced one in the North East before? Don’t worry, here are my picks on where to get the best view.

Ouseburn Fireworks

When: Friday 4th November

Where: City Stadium, Warwick Street

Entry is from 5.30pm and fireworks start from 6.30pm. The best thing? You don’t have to pay! So gather your friends, or go ask that person that you’ve wanted to go on a date with for so long.. I mean, it’s going to be a beautiful night with a lovely company – what more can you ask for?

The Cumberland Arms Bonfire Night

When: Friday 4th November

Where: Cumberland Arms, James Place Street, Ouseburn, Newcastle, Tyne And Wear, NE6 1LD

Head to a traditional pub, located in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley and celebrate the Bonfire Night the fun way. There will be lots and lots of dancing including Fire Dancing from Newcastle Kingsmen and a performance from Newcastle Kingsmen Rapper and Clog. What more did I hear you say? Well, there will be all things hot from soup, spiced cider and apple juice to keep you warm all night!

Tynemouth Fireworks

When: Saturday 5th November

Where: Tynemouth Cricket Club, Preston Avenue, North Shields, Tyne And Wear, NE30 2BE

Fancy doing something a little bit different? How about heading to the North East Coast? At Tynemouth, you can watch their impressive annual fireworks plus warm yourself with a huge bonfire. There will also be a live DJ and fire breathers! Sounds like a class night to me. Get your wristbands for a fiver from here

Newcastle Gosforth Round Table’s Annual Fireworks Display

When: Saturday 5th November

Where: Broadway West Playing Fields, Gosforth, Tyne and Wear, NE3 2HY

If you’re the chill type and would prefer to watch fireworks on YouTube instead of outside in a cold night, we have just the exact reason why you should go out. Well aside from watching the actual sky filled with beautiful colours, The Gosforth Round Table Society is organising a display so that all admission fees can go to a local charity. There will be a wide range of refreshments and attractions during the evening. Fireworks will start from 7pm with gate opening at 6.30pm.

The Argie Bhaji Curry Bttle

When: Saturday 5th November

Where: Wylam Brewery – Palace of Arts, Exhibition Park

Want to do something more than just watching a firework? The Wylam Brewery will commence the hottest battle in town on Saturday filled with good food and beautiful firework displays. Prepared to be burned!

There you have it, the top 5 places with best firework views. What are you waiting for? Put those gloves and woolly hat on, and head to one of the above locations.
