Heading to a Higher Education Fair this month? Not really sure what you’re letting yourself in for? No need to worry, we’ve got it covered.
HE Fairs can be a vital part of your uni-research, so it’s worth making the most of the day and treating it more than just a day off school with your friends (although that’s also an extra benefit).
Ok, so not technically on the day, but you’ll thank yourself later if you do a bit of prep before you head to the fair. With some fairs having 100+ unis attending, unless you love the thrill of a queue (how British) you’d be best to have done a bit of research before you get there.
Got a tonne of questions that need answering? Each uni’s stand will be manned with a team of staff and students there to do just that.
And it’s not just the staff that are in the know – who could talk about university life better than the students that are currently there? Don’t be shy about approaching them, current students will give you the realest answers to your questions (especially the ones you don’t really want to ask staff or your parents!)
200+ glossy pages showcasing everything you could need to know about a uni. Grab your favourites or grab them all – just remember you’ll also have to carry them!
Everyone loves a freebie, and HE Fairs can be a hive of opportunity. Let’s be honest – you can never have enough pens!
So there you have it! HE Fairs are a great opportunity to up your motivation for the next chapter, so instead of walking around aimlessly hoping that your perfect choice will jump out at you, take our advice on board to make the most out of the day!
Newcastle University’s team will be at all the major UCAS HE Fairs over the next few months so don’t forget to come and say hello. For a full list of the HE Fairs they’ll be attending, click here.
