Things to Look Forward to at Uni

Whether University is a matter of months or years away, the reality of moving away from home may be starting to sink in a bit. However, as many graduates recall university as “the best years of their lives”, there is a tonne to look forward to come September.

Meeting loads of new people

New flat, new course, new societies… there are so many opportunities to meet new friends. No need to worry about fitting in, with everyone in the same boat you’ll be surprised how friendly everyone is!

Independence

There’s something refreshing about being able to decide what you’re going to eat, when you’re going to go out and when you’re going to be back. The only downside being that you might actually have to learn how to cook and make your own bed!

Freshers Week

Notorious for a reason, Freshers Week is where it all starts. With loads going on both day and night, it’s a great way to give new things a go, and everyone’s up for a laugh. To get an idea of the activities in store, check out what Freshers Week entailed last year:

Learning more about what you love

Studying something you have a genuine interest in is highly motivating. University definitely gives you a chance to shape your own future, and choose the path you want to go down.

Trying new things

A new city, new friends and with tonnes of societies, there will be loads of activities and events to get stuck into. Whether you love sport, going out, gigs, or something a bit more niche (Circus Skills society did you say?), universities offer you a range of opportunities, and the chance to try things you previously wouldn’t have been able to.
