New year, new you?
If you’re planning on coming to uni this September, 2015 is set to be an incredible year. But it’s also going to be a year of hard work to ensure you get those all-important grades! There are lots of things you can do to ease the pressure of your final year at sixth form/college, and here are our top 5…
Find yourself a diary planner. They only cost a couple of quid but are worth their weight in gold. Keep a record of your application deadlines, revision schedule and other social events. It’ll help you to plan ahead and prioritise your workload.
Not a fan of pen and paper? There are loads of free apps out there to help organise your life, even using your humble phone calendar can keep you on track to success.
It’s one of those sayings that you’re probably sick of, but you can’t deny its worth! If you’ve got mock exams coming up, make yourself a revision timetable – it’ll help get everything down on paper and give yourself a realistic idea of how much work you’ve got to do. And remember to give yourself plenty of breaks!
Be kind on the future-you that’s going to be sitting exams. Stay on top of notes, condensing them as you go to make it easier when that all-important exam season arrives.
Once you’ve covered a topic, have a go at a practice question! It’ll put your new-found knowledge to the test, and avoid it getting buried deep in your brain, only to resurface when it’s too late.
The end is in sight! Don’t let the pressure bog you down – you’ve done great to get to where you are so far, and before you know it you’ll soon be opening those results and be off to start your exciting new chapter!
