Picking which uni you want to go to can be a tough job, especially if you’re not really sure what you’re looking for.

The only way you’ll really know if a particular uni is for you is if you experience first-hand what it’s like to be a student there. That’s why we’ve come up with our Top 5 ways to get a taste of student life…

1. Attend a Visit Day

Getting yourself onto campus is definitely the best way to get a feel for a uni. Attend subject specific talks, campus tours, speak to students doing your degree, take a look at the accommodation and have a wonder around the city and surrounding area.

If you’d like a look around Newcastle University’s campus, our next Visit Days will be taking place Summer 2015.

2. Student Blogs

Nobody can tell you what uni’s really about like current students can. Covering everything from applying, to the nights out once you’re here, our Student Bloggers are there to give you that authentic account of life as a student in Newcastle.

3. Bitesize Uni

Each summer Newcastle Uni invites Year 12 students onto campus for subject lectures, workshops, and of course a tonne of social activities all for FREE. To find out more and to see if you’re eligible take a look at the Newcastle Uni Bitesize Uni page.

4. The Student Room

Online forums like The Student Room provide a great online community to speak to past, present and future students like you. You can really get lost in different feeds and find out pretty much anything you’d like to know! Unis like Newcastle University also have official forums so you can be sure the advice you’re getting is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

5. Uni Survival Guide

If you’re in Year 10, our University Survival Guide can give you a taste of what student life is like as you spend time on campus and stay in our uni accommodation.  It includes a host of fun activities and social events, enabling you to meet current students and learn more about studying at uni.

And they’re just some of the ways you can get a real taste of student life. If you have any questions about these programmes or would like to visit the Newcastle University campus at any time, get in touch with the contact form below.
