Are UCAS Fairs the Only Way?

With all this hype around UCAS fairs, what happens if you can’t attend? Does it mean you’ve missed the only opportunity to get to know the unis you’re interested in?

Don’t fear! There are many more ways to talk to unis and gauge a real insight into uni life:

OPEN DAYS

What better way to get a feel for a uni than to get yourself onto campus? Take a look around the accommodation, campus and facilities. Stroll down to the subject fair, chat with staff and students relating to your course of choice and reel off as many questions as you can possibly think of!

Here at Newcastle University we hold 3 Open Days a year, with the next being the 26th & 27th June.

WEBINARS

Embrace technology and give one of our webinars a go! Every month we host a live webinar on a topic relevant to that time, where you can tweet in using our hashtag to have your questions answered live on air!

Take a look at our latest webinar: UCAS Deadline Day – What Happens Next?

STUDENT BLOGGERS

You might not be speaking to the uni, but our team of Student Bloggers give a real insight into student life here at Newcastle University. Covering everything from accommodation to budgeting, and course content to nightlife, hearing from our students is an authentic way to gain an understanding of studying in the toon.

THE STUDENT ROOM

Online forums like The Student Room are a great way to speak to other students currently in the process of taking their A levels and applying for uni. But did you also know that they’re a quick and easy way to communicate with actual universities too?

We have a number of feeds for prospective students, take a look and have your questions answered here.

So if you can’t get down to a HE Fair this year, no need to worry – there are plenty of other ways to chat to unis and get more of an idea of what it would be like to study there!
