Considering a business related degree? Undecided which University to pick? Newcastle is an amazing choice for any business-related degree! Here are just a few of my many reasons why.
First of all, Newcastle’s Business School is in the top 1% of business schools worldwide to hold a triple accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.
Not only is its architecture impressive but it also offers loads of facilities. Quick print zones, study rooms, computer clusters and projectors in every room; the Business School has everything a student needs. Without forgetting the ReCap function (which allows the recording of classes in real time so you can watch them back at your leisure) enabled in every room. This makes catching up on lectures so much easier – it’s like a Netflix for lectures!
Newcastle University forms a dynamic community that unites opportunities, people and cultures. The multi-ethnicity, the multi-linguality: everything contributes towards a culturally enriching University experience. Furthermore, you will get the chance to meet and study with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, broadening your horizons.
As a Newcastle student, one of the things I love is being able to experience so many cultures at once. I feel very lucky to have made friends from so many different countries whilst studying here.
The course integrates a paid placement totalling about 12 months with PwC, one of the top 4 accounting firms in the world. In addition, it includes an accelerated progress towards being a chartered accountant (a fully qualified member of ICAEW).
Speaking as a student of this degree, I can say with certainty that it is absolutely one of a kind! You do not have to go through the hassle of looking for a placement like most other courses, as this is already set out for you. If you are looking for a course with guaranteed job prospects but also want to enjoy the University experience, then this degree is for you!
All the lecturers I have come across during my time at Newcastle University have been very helpful and really good teachers! One of the common misconceptions at University level is that it is difficult to understand your lectures compared to high school. But at Newcastle University, I do not seem to sense this difference because of the excellent support from my lecturers.
On of the highlights of most of Newcastle’s business degrees is that it allows its students to study abroad for a year through various exchange schemes. Whether you want to embrace the French culture and have perfect croissants for a whole year, enjoy some sunshine in Spain or even discover countries outside of the European Union, you can do so with Newcastle University!
A year abroad not only enriches your cultural understanding but can also help you meet new people or even learn a new language. Not to mention, it looks great on your CV!
