Celebrating Success: Dr Dimitry Jacob

Congratulations to Dimitry on the recent success of his Faculty Research Fund Spring 2019 Application.

Dr Dimitry Jacob has recently been awarded £3,820.02 by the Faculty Research Fund Panel of the Faculty Research and Innovation Committee for his project; The work of lobbyists: evidence of business lobbying strategies from the European Union.

Project Overview:  Lobbying is a vital attribute of the corporate behaviour aimed at shaping public policy. Yet, it remains under-researched in business literature due to the secrecy and stigma surrounding the world of lobbyism. This project will examine the work of European lobbyists within the context of EU institutions, e.g. how Brussels-based trade associations (TAs) promote interests of their member companies at the level of EU Parliament, Commission and Council. This case of lobbying work examines the new post-electoral cycle against the backdrop of the recent elections to the European Parliament and appointments of the new Commissioners.
