Researchers at Risk Fellowships

The British Academy and the Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA) are to fund research fellowships to enable academics who are at risk to travel to the UK to continue their research.  Priority in the first instance will be given to Ukrainian-based researchers.

The scheme is a partnership between the British Academy, CARA, Academy of Medical Sciences, Royal Academy of Engineering and Royal Society.  As such, it is open to Ukrainian-based academics working in any area of natural sciences, medical sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences.

The scheme will provide up to £37,000 per year for two years to support a research bursary/stipend for the researcher, research expenses and UK living costs for the researcher and their family.  The University will consider additional support for each applicant, please see the attached document for more information.

The scheme recently opened on 11th April 2022, and will have rolling monthly deadlines until further notice.
