HaSS Enterprise Academy launch

Perspectives and experiences of Community Engagement in Consultancy

Guest Speaker – Dr David Hetherington – Ove Arup

Venue: The Courtyard Dining area

Date: 11th May 1230 -1330

I am writing to you with information about the new HaSS Enterprise Academy series of lectures and events.

With increasing emphasis from our funders on collaborating with non-academic partners, the HaSS Faculty is keen to support researchers in achieving these goals and enriching their research.

The Enterprise Academy will provide the inspiration, knowledge and connections for researchers who wish to partner with external organisations.

Prof Nigel Harkness will launch the Enterprise Academy with a lunchtime seminar featuring insights from Guest Speaker Dr. David Hetherington from Ove Arup.

David is an Associate and Water Insight Leader in the global engineering, science and design consultancy firm Ove Arup and Partners.  He also holds a position as a Visiting Professor of Practice in the School of Engineering at Newcastle University.  David has a background in Physical Geography and Water Management, and has worked on numerous projects where community engagement has been crucial to success.  David will offer some project examples, explain his experiences on this projects and give some thoughts on the importance of community engagement and social scientists to positive outcomes including SDG progress, environmental improvement, and sustainable action on climate change challenges.

We would be grateful if you would register for this event by 4th May.  Please follow the link to do so.
