ESRC Festival of Social Science: Expressions of Interest

The ESRC’s Festival of Social Science will run this year between Saturday 22 October – Sunday 13 November 2022. The core aim of the Festival is to enable the public to engage with social science research and this year’s theme is ‘My local area’. Events can be one-off activities at any time within the Festival window, or something a little longer. The ESRC is very flexible regarding the types of events delivered and could include: talks, exhibitions, quizzes, performances, craft activities, debates, pop-up stalls etc.

Using Newcastle’s ESRC Impact Acceleration Account funding, we can provide around £500 (or more in well-justified circumstances) to support the development and delivery of any events. This can include paying someone to help organise the event, partner time, materials, and many other items. Further information, including a simplified Festival Pack, can be found here: Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – KE & Impact Opportunities (sharepoint.com)

We are now welcoming Expressions of Interest from all social scientists across the university: Festival of Social Science: Expression of Interest (ncl.ac.uk) The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 12 noon on Monday 1st August 2022.

Interested applicants are welcome to contact Eris Williams Reed (eris.williams-reed@newcastle.ac.uk) and Victoria Barone (victoria.barone@newcastle.ac.uk) with any further questions.
