Faculty Impact Fund

The aim of FIF is to enable knowledge exchange (KE) and impact activities helping researchers maximise the impact from their work and contribute to economic, societal, and cultural development in their region and beyond. It is open to academic staff across all disciplines in HaSS, regardless of contract length or type. Guidelines and application forms are available on the internal Faculty Impact pages here: https://newcastle.sharepoint.com/hub/hss/Pages/impact_funding.aspx

Applicants must submit their completed application form to the Director of Research within their School no later than Monday 3 October 2022. Please do not submit your application directly to or the Faculty Office. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to fund another call this year and therefore recommend that applicants apply to the Standard Call for any activities they wish to complete before 31 July 2023.

Eris Williams Reed will also be running two online information sessions for interested applicants on the following dates:

  • Friday 9 September, 1-2pm
  • Monday 19 September, 10-11am

You can register to attend these events here: https://forms.office.com/r/uFKiLTTNSe

Please contact Eris (eris.williams-reed@ncl.ac.uk) if you have any questions.

All applications should be submitted to nubsdirectorofresearch@ncl.ac.uk no later than 5pm on Monday 3rd October.

Please contact the research team at nubsdirectorofresearch@ncl.ac.uk prior to the submission of any application for internal funding – this enables us to check your costs and ensure they are compliant with university policies on spend, and also helps to ensure projects are adequately costed, avoiding potential shortfalls.
